Mueller’s Money Lines: Stanford at Washington

Fresh off of the 39-28 win over Michigan State, the Washington Huskies welcome Stanford to Montlake Saturday night. The all-time matchup between the two programs is in a dead heat with the score 44-44 and 4 ties.

The Huskies took last year’s matchup in an ugly win to the tune of 20-13 on the farm.

This year sees the Huskies at 18th in the country and a 3-0 nonconference record and the Cardinal at 1-1 with a win over Colgate and a conference loss to USC 41-28.

Washington’s offense has been extremally effective to start the year and  Michael Penix’s name starting to emerge in Heisman conversation.

On the other side of the field Tanner Mckee and the Cardinal had four turnovers while driving on the Trojans. The offense piled up 441 yards and scored 28 points.

The Huskies are a 14 point favorite which is not easy to cover. Stanford’s defense has shown to be just as shaky as it was in 2021. The Trojans racked up over 500 yards. Washington’s offense is similar in their air attack.

Washington is 14 point favorites with the point total at 63.5. Vegas projects this to be about a 39-25 Washington win.

Mueller’s Money Line:  I believe the Huskies will win, but I worry about a backdoor cover when the game is already decided. I am comfortable with betting the over of 63.5 points.
