Below are 12 things every Husky fan needs to know about the Washington Huskies and the Stanford Cardinal heading into the game this weekend.

1. Washington is ranked going into a game for the first time this season.

2. Stanford has as many rushing first downs as Washington has total touchdowns on the season.

3. Washington is one of only five teams in college football that have been booked as a favorite in every game and covered through the first three weeks. The others are USC, Penn State, Minnesota, and Tennessee.

4. Michael Penix Jr. leads all Power 5 quarterbacks with 11 completions on throws over 20 yards or more.

5. Stanford’s kicker, Joshua Karty, has yet to attempt a field goal this season.

6. Per Tony Castricone, “Washington is outscoring its opponents 91-24 in the first half. The Dawgs’ average halftime lead is 22.3 points. Their average halftime lead is higher than their scoring average of 21.5 points per game last year.”

7. Through three games, Michael Penix Jr. ranks No. 2 in the nation in passing yards with 1,079 yards, No. 4 in passing touchdowns with 10, and No. 12 in passing efficiency with 180.8.

8. Stanford’s quarterback, Tanner McKee, has as many touchdowns as he does interceptions with three.

9. Four Huskies are coming into this matchup with awards given to them after the win last week. Michael Penix Jr., Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, Ja’Lynn Polk, Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, Troy Fautanu, Pac-12 O-Lineman of the Week, and Kalen DeBoer, Dodd Trophy National Coach of the Week.

10. Stanford lost their top two running backs last year to the transfer portal in the offseason, now they are out their starting running back, E.J. Smith, this game due to injury.

11. Washington leads the Pac-12 in passing offense, total offense, first downs, and 3rd down conversions.

12. Stanford has the second most tackle-for-loses allowed in the Pac-12 with 20, and they’ve played one less game than everyone else.
