BREAKING: Washington RB Davis Out For Season

Washington’s running back depth to a serious hit on Saturday as Cameron Davis has been sidelined for the season with an injury, Kalen DeBoer announced Wednesday after practice.

Last season Davis 6–0, 212 running back from Rancho Cucamonga, California.

Dillon Johnson is closer to full health and will be leaned on more heavily, with Davis’ injury.

In 11 games last season he had 522 yards on 107 carries and 13 touchdowns.

The emergence of Will Nixon in fall camp now becomes more important than ever.  The Nebraska transfer carry the ball 21 times for 89 yards and two touchdowns last season.

Senior Richard Newton is healthier now that he has been in the past two seasons, and will help carry the load, as well.  For his career, Newton has nearly 1000 yards and 14 touchdowns.

The Huskies have also added, Daniyel Ngata who transferred from Arizona State and has had a very good Fall Camp, himself.

Certainly not to be overlook is stalwart, Sam Adams, who has shown the ability to line up, either in the backfield or as a receiver.

The Washington coaches have talked about wanting to run the ball more this season.  The sophomore carried the ball 13 times for 40 yards last season.

trevor Mueller will look at the depth of Washington’s running back position later on today.
