WOOF: Huskies Get Pledge from Hawai’i Linebacker, Miki Ah You

Washington is on a roll this week. Yesterday, Realdawg.com broke the story that a local LB committed, and now we can report that Hawai’i linebacker, Miki Ah You (Kahuku HS) has pulled the trigger and given his pledge to Washington.

“I feel like I fit in there and I can go there and become the best person I can be”, Ah You told us earlier today about his decision.

Ikaika Malloe and Bob Gregory scoured the Islands during the evaluation period, and one guy that totally stood out was Ah You. He had been at Washington’s Rising Stars camp two weeks ago, and then checked out the Oregon schools.

He took an unofficial trip to Oregon on June 5th, but the Ducks weren’t able to overcome the Huskies in this one.

Ah You and his family spoke to Husky coaches lastnight and the decision was made to announce that decision today.

He’s a very versatile and athletic linebacker. He has the sideline-to-sideline speed you want in a guy that’s 6-1, 220, but he also has an extremely high football IQ.

His team has been through three defensive coordinators in the past three seasons he’s been at Kahuku, so he’s learned a lot of different terms, schemes, and just the flatout ability to be flexible and make adjustments.

While databases have him listed as an outside linebacker, Washington will be using Ah You on the inside.
