Report: Second Scholarship Player Enters Transfer Portal for Washington

Defensive lineman Anthony James will reportedly join Vincent Nunley in the Transfer Portal.

James, who was originally committed to Texas A&M was recruited as an edge rusher by Kalen DeBoer but asked to switch positions to the defense interior last season, but had not participated in Spring football for new, Husky Head Coach Jedd Fisch.

The US Army All-American was a coup by former Washington Director of Player Personnel, Courtney Morgan, nicking him from the Aggies. Then listed at 6-5  and 265 pounds, he became the face of the 2021 recruiting class, falling in love with Washington the moment he stepped off of the airplane in SeaTac.

”Washington and the purple ‘W’ were everywhere,” he told RealDawg at the time.

James added 7 pounds as he was working towards an interior lineman position, without losing his quick initial burst.

The Lavon, Texas product redshirted last season and did not participate in any games and will have four years of eligibility remaining at his new school.

A second defender, Vincent Nunley, left the program yesterday.

RealDawg.com has reached out to James for confirmation.
