For the first time since the 2016-17 season, the Washington women’s basketball team joins the AP Top 25.
Following a dominant 32-point win over visiting Saint Mary’s on Saturday, UW finds itself sitting at No. 23 in the newest AP poll, one spot ahead of North Carolina and one behind Creighton. Washington is one of two newcomers to the rankings along with No. 25 TCU.
The Huskies’ last ranking came on the heels of a tremendous 2016 season, after they made it all the way to the 2016 NCAA Tournament Final Four for the first time in program history under the leadership of current 2-time WNBA Champion Kelsey Plum.
Head Coach Tina Langley has had her team locked in, focused and playing with gumption since making noticeable progress during the 2022-23 season, with an eventual WNIT Fab 4 appearance catching a good amount of attention.
