On the heels of its 39-28 victory over the Michigan State Spartans, the Washington Huskies have climbed into the AFCA Coached Poll. On ESPN on a nationally televised game the unbeaten Huskies built a 22-0 lead midway through the second quarter. In the Associated Press Poll the UW moved up from unranked to 18th. Michigan State dropped out.
Michael Penix passed for 397 yards and 4 TDs with 153 yards and 3 TDs going to Ja’Lynn Polk, as the Huskies won in convincing fashion.
Washington hasn’t been ranked since falling out of the national polls after a season-opening loss to Montana last season.
In the AP Poll, four other Pac-12 teams are ranked, including the highest ranked one-loss team, Utah.
