Washington Coaches Head to Redlands Football Camp Ahead of Big Recruiting Weekend

Recruiting has seemingly been at a crawl for the Washington Husky football team.  However, it’s been a steady build in the past few weeks as prospects have been lining up official visits for the coming weekend and the spring finale the following weekend.

While all of the behind the scenes stuff is going on, some Washington Husky coaches continue their spring-long recruiting road trips, heading back to Southern California to the University of Redlands.

Due east of Los Angeles at Ted Runner Stadium in Redlands, the Huskies will be looking for up-and-coming football talent for the next few recruiting cycles at this Rising Stars Mega camp.  There will be other Pac-12 foes in Cal, USC, Utah, Oregon State, UCLA, and Arizona State of 14 schools in attendance.

The spring camp series has been good for Washington finding several players over the years.

Kalen DeBoer was on hand for the Northwest Showcase at Western Oregon University where he saw former Husky Elijah Molden’s younger brother, Josiah stand out.  The class of 2027 recruit received an offer after the camp a few weeks ago.

Over the weekend, in-state Washington QB commit EJ Caminong checked out Texas A&M.  The Garfield High School senior will be on campus on Montlake this weekend.

The Huskies have continued to send out offers to all classes and positions.

Julian McMahan, a 6-3, 197-pound 2025 LB from Monte Vista HS in California pulled in an  offer from UW.

Along the way, offensive line coach Scott Huff nabbed the commitment from offensive lineman Kansas State transfer, Jalen Klemm.

The Huskies were thought to be taking just two offensive linemen this go-round do what happens with the roster numbers will be known when Fall Camp starts later this summer.

With that news, 3-star Devin Brooks committed to Oregon.  3-star Ikinasio Tupou a 6-6, 285-pound offensive tackle, at this point, is still on the books as an official visitor for June 23rd.

Last week, UW also offered yet-unrated 2025 TE/DE Kellan Ford from east of Oakland, California in Monte Vista.

And 5-star long-snapper/tight end Cannon Skidmore from Red Mountain High School in Mesa, Arizona announced his official visit to UW soon.

This is a big recruiting week for the class of 2024. Check back frequently to this page for updates andas links to stories.
