Vegas 22 DT Gets Thanksgiving Surprise

It might have been something he had hoped for, but Las Vegas (Liberty) 2022 defensive tackle, Sir Mells was still in a little bit of shock today after getting an offer from the Huskies during a Facetime chat.

“I’m still shaking”, the 6-4, 315 lb. athlete told Realdawg.com, “I was not expecting it and I don’t even know what to do yet.”

Mells is a serious sleeper, but Ikaika Malloe has a great eye for talent, “He said he can see my playing on his defense”, Mells said.

Mells is a powerful d-lineman with huge upside — he uses his hands well and has great feet for a big man.

Last weekend Mells, and also newly-offered teammate Anthony Jones were in Seattle. Of course they were also flanked by already-committed receiver, Germie Bernard. And while they were unable to spend any time with the coaches due to dead period, Mells and Jones saw enough of the UW that they have a strong idea of what would happen if they were to be offered.

“I would definitely consider it”, Mells said, noting that he and his two friends and teammates have been talking about playing at the same college since their freshman year.

Last season Mells had 47 tackles, and his ceiling is very high going forward.
