Trip Report: Former 4-Star USC Commit on Washington Visit, “I’ve never seen anything like it,”

4-star California cornerback Jett White had been committed to USC since September 25 of 2021 but decided to retract his pledge two weeks ago.  This past weekend the 2025 4-star cornerback took a visit to the University of Washington along with his California Power 7-on-7 team.

His sophomore season didn’t end how he’d hoped losing in the championship to San Jacinto High School, 42-15.  Despite the rough ending to his team’s season he was recognized as a sophomore All-American cornerback by adidas and MaxPreps.  He was also a freshman All-American by both services.

With the accolades pouring in he thought that he would check out the world beyond his Orange High School in Los Angeles.

“I wanted to see what’s out there,” he said of his reasoning for decommitting from USC.

Between the time that he committed to USC he reeled in dozens of offers and eventually decided that he wanted to go out and kick some tires at other schools.

His first stop: the University of Washington.

Now sporting 37 offers, including half of the Pac-12 Conference, he’s finally getting to see what else is out there.  And his eyes have been opened by his trip to Montlake Friday night when he put on a Husky uniform and turned on the purple lights inside Husky Stadium.

“I’ve never seen anything like that,” the two time All-American CB said excitedly.

But the cool January night with temperatures dipping into the low 40’s didn’t impress him.

“I didn’t really like the cold,” he said.  However, he said that he wants to play football professionally and understands that playing in varying temperatures is something he needs to become acclimated with.

He got to connect with the coaches, in particular defensive backs coach, Julius Brown and defensive coordinator Chuck Morrell.

“Coach Juice, he’s a cool man.  He even offered me some tips on my position,” White said.  “He’s a guy that would help me grow.  I want to get developed into a better person, on and off the field.”

He also has a connection to Oregon through graduate assistant Rashad Wadood, a former coach, so he’ll likely have a visit to Eugene.

Other schools he’d like to check out are Georgia, Colorado and Utah.

With all of the love that he’s seeing from the 36 other suitors he has a special spot for the Huskies because of Washington’s director of player personnel, Courtney Morgan.

“He’s like an uncle to me,” he said.  “I’ve known him since I was born.”

Even with that relationship aside, his experience Friday night he said vaulted the Huskies into his top 10.
