In a Halloween video released just before Trick or Treaters hit the streets in search of free candy, Washington Football released a video of what appeared to be 4 football-clad manikins dressed in various Husky uniforms.  Various football support staff and coaching assistants, including linebacker coach William Inge filed past the first three manikins, only to have the 4th not be a manikin but a human inside.

The first manikin wore a typical Husky purple and gold home uniform, followed by the new Husky Royalty road uniforms which were unveiled on the last road game in Cal.  Next to that was the Blackout uniforms from the Arizona game in 2020.  The final uniform, gold pants, a purple jersey, and a matt-gold helmet, in the row, was not worn by a manikin but by a human being who jumped out to scare the passers-bys.

The reactions varied from one coach shaking his hand to Coach Inge who wasn’t scared but appeared to interview the person who tried to spook him to others who clutched their chest, Jalen McMillan who yelled and high-fived him or jumped back or fell to the ground.

One of the more humorous ones was offensive tackle Robert Wyrsch who turned his back just as the “spooker” jumped out then with Wyrsch’s back to them quickly moved back into its spot undetected.  When Wyrsch turned back around the spooker jumped at the sophomore offensive tackle who appeared to give a playful trip.

But, upon closer inspection, the human had a couple of “treats” on it, yet to be announced for any game this season.  The On the hip of the gold pants and on the side of the helmets is the school’s logo from 1979-1983, which remains one of the most popular retro logs among Husky fans of all ages.  This combination was used for the celebration of the 1991 National Championship Husky team.
