21-21 after Halftime

The Huskies receive the kick and some good play calls get two first downs over three plays. Jalen McMillan gets open on third down for the first UW conversion of the night. The short throws and yards after the catch marched the ball down the field for a 70 yard drive. The last play was Michael Penix sewing the needle between defenders to Jalen McMillan in the end zone to put the Huskies up 28-21.

Texas puts the ball on the ground and UW finally makes a play. Ulofoshio is the first defender to the play, but Bralen Trice punches it out. Asa Turner jumps on the football and all of a sudden UW can put this game where they want it. Penix threads a tight window throw to Westover for a big gain but three straight tries with Johnson was short again and Grady Gross chips it threw for a 10-point lead. 31-21 Huskies.

The little things are looking better for UW. As Texas kick return is stopped inside their own 25 for the first time all night. As the Longhorns were moving the ball another false start makes it 2nd and 10. On third down Bralen Trice got a free lane and forced Ewers to toss one into the turf while delivering a big hit. With the ball back UW took their time moving the ball methodically up the field. The Huskies are pulling everything out of the playbook with a variety of play calls. It’ll be third down coming out of the break, but its all Huskies right now.
