Mueller Money Lines – Washington vs Arizona

The Washington Huskies are back home and welcome the Arizona Wildcats. Under Jed Fisch and transfer quarterback Jayden de Laura the Wildcats look like they have taken a step forward this season.

Offensively the Cats are explosive. They have a balanced run game and de Laura has been lethal. They are scoring 30 points a game and have been a handful on 3rd down. Jayden de Laura has a trio of receivers that cause different problems for defenses.

Defensively the Wildcats are a disaster. They are surrendering over 34 points a game while giving up 430 yard a game.

Washington, on the other hand, has struggled on the road defensively. The Huskies are surrendering 50% of third down situations. The Arizona offense should be able to move the ball down the field. The only point that gives me pause about the secondary who has been much maligned is the return of Asa Turner. Bringing Turner back onto the field could make up for some deficiencies due to injury and youth.

Offensively the Huskies should score at will. Penix looks like he is ok after the targeting hit to his chest, and should be able to find open receivers. The O-line is better on paper than the Arizona D-line that has struggled to get to the quarterback.

Both offenses will be on display on Saturday afternoon. Washington has been better at home in their pass rushers as well as the back end when Turner was on the field.

Washington is a 14 point favorite which is tough to cover when the defense hasn’t looked great over the last two weeks. Jayden de Laura tends to throw interception when under pressure. I do not feel comfortable with it, but I will be taking Washington -14.

I feel more confident of betting the over on points set at 73.
