Zephyrhills, FL receiver, Bryson Rodgers is a 6-2, 170 lb. 2023 prospect who just received an offer from Washington two days ago, but is the West Coast too far away?
Neither Rodgers, or his Washington recruiter, Courtney Morgan seem to think so.
“Distance will not bother my decision at all”, Rodgers told Realdawg.com.
Rodgers is a long and agile wideout who exhibits strong break-away speed and runs real crisp routes. He’s anywhere the quarterback needs him to be on the field and, one thing that stands out is the way Rodgers can turn an intermediate gain into a long gain because he’s shifty and eludes defenders — he has silky soft hands and gets the separation needed to take it to the house.
Last season at Wiregrass Ranch High School, Rodgers recorded 645 receiving yards , 17 touchdowns, and 42 receptions for 15.3 yards per catch.
When asked what he feels his biggest strengths are on the field, Rodgers said “My route-running and being unpredictable.”
So now, with 28 offers on the table, the Huskies came calling.
As for whether or not he gets along well with Morgan, Rodgers replied, “Absolutely”, and said that the two have been talking for five months now.
Would he visit Washington if asked?
“I would”, said Rodgers, “I have never been out West.”
There’s a long way to go, of course, for this prospect, but at the end of the day he already knows what it’s going to to come down to, “Comfortably fitting in the environment, good academics for my major, good people in the city , good coaching staff, and good athletes.”
Rodgers either wants to major in Media or Sports Medicine.
