Dillon Johnson is a 6 foot 217-pound running back who is transferring from Mississippi State to Washington with two years of eligibility remaining.
Hailing from Greenville, Mississippi, Johnson will be coming from SEC country, choosing Washington over South Carolina and Auburn. The biggest shock when he visited after the 2022 season was the food. “They don’t season their food” chuckled Johnson.
Tabbed as one of the best pass-catching backs in college football, he could be the missing ingredient in the offensive recipe that Ryan Grubb is cooking for this 2023 season.
Johnson has the potential to raise the productivity in a running back room that was efficient last year in 2022.
While Washington’s running back room is chocked full of talent, Johnson could be the cream of the crop with his ability to line up in the backfield as a running back or out wide as a pass catcher.
Johnson sat down with RealDawg.com’s Trevor Mueller for our latest episode of Friday Film Study.
