The kick is on the ground and bobbled pinning the Longhorns on their own 16. Texas gets a first down thanks to a missed hold and showed signs of life. Texas is getting play makers into space with just enough time left. But just when things seemed going the Longhorns way the ball  slippedout and a gang of purple jerseys covered the ball. Penix has the ball back and a chance to put this thing away.

Penix was forced to throw the first play away, and took another shot on second down. A blatant pass interference was called and UW got 15 yards. Grubb’s trick play was incomplete and Texas got it to third and 10. Save the penalty the Huskies offense stalled out and ran almost no clock giving Texas the ball right back.

The false starts keep on coming as Texas is flagged for the tenth time and lose five more yards. It doesn’t matter as Texas keeps the drive moving with a first down. Ewers drops back and Bralen Trice chases him down for another sack. But again Texas gets it back as Xavier Worthy finally makes an impact getting Texas in the red zone. Jaydon Blue got his share of touches from that point and Ewers out AD Mitchell in the end zone to make it a six point game at 34-28.

A loss of one then a Westover completion set up third and two with big implications. Mister reliable Jack Westover was wide open for the first down and a new set of downs. A screen pass to McMillan breaks free for 14 yards and another first down. Dillon Johnson got a big chunk on first down and a shot on second down was thrown perfectly into Odunze for 32 yards. Two straight pitches to Tybo Rogers made it third and goal from the 10 yard line. An incomplete pass saves a Texas timeout and Grady Gross continues his big night going up 37-28.

Ewers throw was knocked down on the line and Texas took the field goal making it 37-31.

Texas went for the onside kick with 1:09 left and Josh Cuevas landed on it short of 10 yards. Dillon Johnson got two carries to set up third down. Texas used their time outs leaving the game down to this one play. A simple draw to Johnson wouldn’t get the first and an injury to the Huskies running back stopped the clock. A fair catch on the punt, and an interference gave the Longhorns the ball on the 31 with 45 seconds left.

The first pass was incomplete, and on second down Ewers completely missed another target. On third and 10 a shot taken to Jordan Wittington got the ball to UW’s 28. The first down throw was to the end zone but Jabbar Muhammad got his hand in the way. A throw to blue was called a catch on the field and despite the ball bobbling around the call stood. First down from the 12 lost a yard leaving 10 seconds on the clock. Second down was thrown out the back of the end zone and five more seconds ran. Third down from the 13, five seconds left. Mishael Powell got pressure and Ewers had to throw it away with one second left.

Texas went back to Mitchell, and this time it was Elijah Jackson in coverage. A jump ball went up and Mitchell and Elijah Jackson swatted the ball out of bounds with not a second left on the clock.
