As expected, the Washington Huskies, despite a convincing 41-7 road victory over Michigan State remain 8th in the AP Poll.
Several teams are ahead of UW struggled or did not look dominant so it is not out of the realm that the Huskies could move up a spot or two.
Top ranked Georgia looked human for much of the night against South Carolina eventually winning 24-14.
It was likely hard for voters to gauge anything off of Michigan’s 31-6 victory over Bowling Green. It was a solid win, and not one that would cast any doubt, but not a resounding victory like Washington’s over Michigan State. It seems unlikely they would fall from the number to spot.
Third ranked Florida State did not look like the number three team in the country against Boston College, pulling out a 31-29 win.
The fourth ranked Texas Longhorns did not look like the team that dropped Alabama two weeks ago. They beat Wyoming 31 to 10. But it seems unlikely that they would slip back any.
Just ahead the Huskies, No. 5 USC, No. 6 Ohio State and No. 7 Penn State all held serve against weaker opponents.
As expected, Ohio State throttled the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky 63-10.

The Huskies enter conference play next Saturday in a night contest against California. Again, the 7:30 night time kick off will likely impact how Washington is viewed on a national stage.
