Was Washington’s Dominant Win Enough to Move Up in AP Poll?

Despite a convincing 41 to 7 victory over Michigan State Spartans, it may not be enough to move the Washington Huskies Huskies up in the AP Poll.  A 14.5-point favorite, Washington easily covered the spread.

Several teams are ahead of UW struggled or did not look dominant so it is not out of the realm that the Huskies could move up a spot or two.

Top ranked Georgia looked human for much of the night against South Carolina eventually winning 24-14.

It’s hard to gauge anything off of Michigan’s 31-6 victory over Bowling Green. It is a solid win, and not one that would cast any doubt, but not a resounding victory like Washington’s over Michigan State.  It seems unlikely they would fall from the number to spot.

Third ranked Florida State did not look like the numberthree team in the country against Boston College, pulling out a 31-29 win.

The fourth ranked Texas Longhorns did not look like the team that dropped Alabama two weeks ago. They beat Wyoming 31 to 10.  But it seems unlikely that they would slip back any.

Just ahead the Huskies, No. 5 USC, No. 6 Ohio State and No. 7 Penn State all held serve against weaker opponents.

As expected, Ohio State throttled the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky 63-10.

Of the top 8 teams Washington’s 41-7 win was the best-looking, most-dominant but it was also on Peacock, meaning the lack eyes on the game may hamper any upward mobility.
