By all intents and purposes the 43-10 victory for the Washington Huskies is a quality win. The game was never in doubt, Michael Penix threw for over 400 yards, and the Huskies stayed at #8 in the AP polls. But with the expectations this team has as a legitimate national title contender this game left a lot to be desired.
Washington left an easy 10-17 points on the field with an interception in the end zone, a lost fumble in the red zone, and a field goal that bounced off the upright.
The good new for the Huskies is the performance came against an inferior team where a B- or C effort still results in a comfortable win. The other piece of good news is that this staff knows how to fix mistakes. The best example was the problems blocking on the outside against Boise State. This was fixed in the week and fans saw the Husky receivers violently blocking defensive backs downfield multiple times during the game.
Washington will leave the comfortable setting in Husky Stadium and travel to East Lancing to take on a Michigan State team that is now steeped in controversy as their head coach, Mel Tucker, has been put on leave due to sexual harassment allegations against him.
Kaila Olin, UW Leah, and Trevor Mueller break down the good and the bad from the Tulsa game and discuss the adjustments that need to be made for next Saturday.
