4–Star Washington DB Target Discusses Connection to Husky Coaches

4-star defensive back Isaiah Rubin is aware that Washington has prioritized him as a defensive back for the 2024.

“The coaches talk to me consistently,” the 6-1, 170 pound cornerback said.

The Huskies initially connected with Rubin when he attended Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas before the 2022 season.  Then he moved to California and due to transfer rules his football participation was limited.

“I was only able to play 4 games this year due to me moving states mid season,” he said.

Even so, the Huskies appear to have him high on their recruiting board.

He and his close friend from his Las Vegas days, Landon Bell, visited Seattle for the Michigan State game earlier this year.  After the game Bell committed to Washington and Rubin has been back to visit the campus on his own since then.

“Washington is in (my top 8) because every time I went there I was treated like one of them,” Rubin said.  “It was a family thing there.”

What he’s witnessed during his visits is that the coaches are very level-headed in regards to their approach to the game of football and to life.  Colorado, Michigan, Utah, Arizona, Auburn, Oregon, and Texas A&M round out his Top 8.

“I have a strong connection with Coach Juice and Courtney Morgan,” he said.

That relationship was a huge factor when he narrowed his list—and expects that the bond to continue.

“They have influenced my decision to put them in my top 8,” he said.  “I look forward to continuing to work with them.”

As he gets ready for his final decision the Washington coaches will most-certainly be a factor.  He has not set a date yet for his commitment.
