Washington Makes Cut for Top 15 JuCo Player, No. 2 CB

Channing Canada, the number 2 Junior College cornerback included the Washington Huskies in his Top 3.  Rated as a 3-star defensive back, Canada played college football for Trinity Valley Community College in Boutte, Louisiana.

He was recently listed on RealDawg.com’s list of 4 names to know in the off season.

His recruiting took off this past month with offers coming in from each of the Power 5 conferences.

Originally from Athens, Texas, Canada narrowed his search for a school from 39 to three: TCU, Auburn and Washington.  He visited Washington November 18th.  He followed that visit with one to Mississippi State, Illinois, and TCU in the succeeding weeks.

Listed at 6-0 and 175, is a primary target to help the Washington defense.

“Canada would fill a big void in Washington’s defensive backfield,” said RealDawg.com’s Trevor Mueller.  “The Huskies lose Alex Cook and Jordan Perrymanto graduation and Cam Williams to the Transfer Portal.

Washington is also targeting Seattle-born 4-star Caleb Presley who is currently committed to Oregon and visited Eugene, Oregon this past Friday.

Canada has not set a date for his commitment.
