Bethel High School linebacker prospect, Will Latu made a public declaration this week: He listed his Top Five schools and left it off with the comment, “Coming soon”.
But how soon?
Realdawg.com spoke with Latu and he explained what his timeline actually is…
“Nothing soon”, Latu explained, “Maybe my birthday which is Oct. 25th or Christmas day.”
Latu said he didn’t mean to insinuate to the twittersphere that it was coming anytime in the super-near future, “My bad”, he laughed, “I didn’t mean to.”
Latu was offered by the Huskies back in early June and he’s being recruited by Jimmy Lake, and while he’s listed as a safety in most databases, he is being recruited as a linebacker prospect (at this point) by Washington.
His top five are Washington, Utah, USC, Oregon State, and Arizona State, and he’s offered by all five schools. He also holds offers from Tennessee, Nebraska, and Colorado.
Latu is listed as a 4-star prospect for 2021.
The scouting report on Latu is that he’s quick (4.5) and on defense, he hits like a ton of bricks. He’s listed as a safety by some networks, but projects as a linebacker at the next level because he has the frame to add more weight and shows solid pursuit and intuitiveness for offenses that are coming his way.
