The day is young, and Kalen DeBoer just announced Washington’s seventh commitment of the week, and fifth since the biggest weekend of official visits in recent memory got underway. This time, it’s offensive tackle Elishah Jackett out of El Modena High School in Orange, California. He’s currently rated as a four-star prospect by On3.com, and a high three-star by the 247 Sports Composite.
Multiple sources have told me that Jackett was the top tackle on Scott Huff’s board, and this is a home run for the offensive line coach. Before announcing his commitment to Washington, he held 15 offers from all over the country, including Texas, Ole Miss, USC, and Nebraska before deciding he wanted to be a Husky.
I said I was going to wait to post until my bday… But I couldn’t hold this in anymore, i’m so passionate about this one right here because we are going to build a future together winning championships on Montlake with that being said I want to announce i’m a DAWG! @UW_Football pic.twitter.com/LZxoEKQ6GH

When you turn on his film, it’s very easy to see why DeBoer and the rest of his staff wanted to get Jackett in the boat as soon as possible. Standing at 6’7 and 280 pounds, he’s already an excellent pass protector as a high schooler, and has the athleticism to pull all the way across the formation from right tackle.
This commitment officially puts Washington ahead of Oregon in the national recruiting rankings, and has them up to second in the Pac-12, only behind USC. It sounds like there’s going to be at least one or two more commitments before all the recruits officially leave campus, so keep an eye out, the Huskies are going to continue to climb.
