Jack Yary took the long way to Washington, first committing and signing with USC, and then entering the transfer portal.
He looked back at the school who was so close to his heart during the recruiting process: Washington.
“It was just the family atmosphere and the way they use the position”, he told Realdawg.com, “It’s the best fit for me. When I went up there the presentation was amazing and I loved the campus and the vibe I got from the team. They’re a real brotherhood and you can tell that they’re close.”
When Yary visited Chris Petersen was still the head coach, but Jimmy Lake is a guy he’s willing to put his faith in.
“I love Coach Lake, and I love his energy”, he said.
And Jordan Paopao was still the tight end coach as well, “I love Coach Cato”, he said, “I feel like he can really develop me and knows what he’s doing. I know he can get me to the next level.”
Yary’s father played for USC, but his parents are all in for the UW opportunity, “They’re thinking of moving up there”, he said.
Yary will enroll on September 21st, and now that he’s completed his french class, all that’s left is to start packing his bags.
“I’m real excited”, he said.
