WOOF: Huskies Round Out OL Class with 3-Star Soane Faasolo

The ball just keeps on rolling! Yet another commitment for Kalen DeBoer and his staff, this one comes from Menlo-Atherton (Calif.) offensive lineman Soane Faasolo. Faasolo is currently rated as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports and the 247 Composite, and chose Washington over offers from BYU, Cal, and Oregon State. He’s a gigantic get, literally, the two-way player for Menlo-Atherton is currently listed at 6’9, and 260 pounds, and has the potential to be a star after a few years in a college weight room.

With the build of a prototypical tackle, Faasolo has all the traits an offensive line coach at the college level is looking for. He moves very well for a player his size, has a frame that can easily support another 30-40 pounds, and is impressively coordinated, which is not something that comes easily for a lot of high school offensive linemen. He’s also the ideal player to help Scott Huff wrap up his offensive line class for the class of 2023.

Huff is wrapping up a fantastic class, and he loves to take one huge body with a lot of exciting physical traits to finish off the class. In 2020, it was Gig Harbor (Wash.) tackle Samuel Peacock, and in 2021 it was Soquel (Calif.) tackle Robert Wyrsch. With the amount of talent the Huskies have along the offensive and defensive line, adding a player with Faasolo’s potential is an incredibly exciting thought. He’ll improve physically in strength coach Ron McKeefery’s system, who should be able to help him access more of his natural power, and will go against some of the best competition in the Pac-12 every day at practice.

Buckle up Husky fans, there’s still a lot more coming down the road…
