The Husky offensive line class of 2022 is taking shape. Today the Dawgs received a commitment from O’Dea High School lineman, Mark Nabou.
“I didn’t really want to commit so early”, Nabou told Realdawg.com, “I wanted to wait and see if more offers were going to come my way.”
But the die was cast long ago when the Huskies stepped up with an early offer, “I chose UW because it was one of my best offers.”
Not to mention the opportunity to stay close to home and play in front of family and friends.
Nabou joins recent commit Parker Brailsford (AZ) who will be playing center for the Trenchdawgs, while Nabou is more of a swing guy who can play guard or tackle.
He’s big (6-4, 328) and plays with a lot of attitude. His technique is sound and what makes him so special is that he is so versatile; it shows how athletic he is but also how physically strong he is. Nabou has a high ceiling and is just starting to scratch the surface of his athletic ability.
Think of Jaxon Kirkland who came in as a tackle and wound up playing some guard; that versatility was such that now Kirkland is being projected a top 10 pick for the draft.
Scott Huff knows it when he sees it, “Me and Coach were talking to eachother everyday before I made my decision”, Nabou said, “Telling the benefits (of Washington) and he didn’t want me to miss out.”
With Brailsford already in the fold, that narrowed the field of how many linemen the Huskies would take in this class — and Nabou was well aware of this.
“Coach Huff said there were not many spots left on the team”, he said, “I really didn’t want to miss out on UW.”
So again, the class is taking shape. Who will be next?
Stay tuned…
