As most expected, Corona Del Mar (CA) 4-star tight end, Mark Redman put his name on the Husky commit list today, giving Washington a pledge and joining teammate Ethan Garbers (QB).
Redman was in Seattle for a second trip; he’d come up back in the fall to see the Huskies in action on a game weekend, and today he attended practice and had a chance to spend time with the coaches and see more of the school.
“I like the staff and the facilities”, he said of the UW program, but he also talked about how there’s “two different cities” with the U-District and then the metro part of Seattle, “I really like that about it — the city is beautiful.
“I feel like I’m home — the stadium sits right next to the lake and the water…it gives a different kind of vibe.”
He’s big, athletic, quick, and he not only runs good routes, but his blocking skills are above average for a high school junior. This is likely what the coaches like about Redman. He’s played football since he was in eight grade as well and so he has a solid skillset and his ceiling is high.
The commitment of Redman was a big one for Washington because they never signed a tight end in the 2019 class, and he understands he may not be the only tight end to sign in this class either, “I know they’ve offered another guy and I’m good with that”, he said.
