Another source has confirmed to Realdawg.com today that Zion Tupuola-Fetui has also made a public commitment.
That makes two for the weekend at Montlake, and this is shaping up to be the recruiting weekend the Huskies had hoped for.
Tupuola-Fetui was offered last spring, and as an OLB, the Huskies also like him at the BUCK position. He’s put on weight and is now up to 250 (6-4). He plans to get up to around 280 at UW and is still filling out.
The skinny on Tupuola-Fetui is that he’s ferocious off the edge and loves to get after the quarterback; Two years in a row he’s recorded double-digit sacks for Pearl City HS. He also plays basketball, volleyball, and participates in paddling.
With the scouting reports we’ve gotten from experts around the island, Tupuola-Fetui should be a 4-star prospect, so the networks got it wrong on this one.
Tupuola-Fetui is a long and lean athlete with quick feet, excellent hand-technique, and speed of the edge.
“I think my biggest strength is getting off the ball and reading”, he said.
Tupuola-Fetui, like MJ Tafisi last night, didn’t keep his commitment quiet — he made it public in front of anyone who was watching.
