WOOF: Huskies Bring Home Top Juco TE in the Country

In only two months after receiving the offer from the hometown Huskies, the nations top juco TE and former Inglemoore High School athlete, Quentin Moore has already added his name to the class of 2021 roster.

“This is my mom’s (Sara) dream come true, she is 100% hyped”, the 6-6, 250 lb. Moore said about the opportunity to return to his hometown to play football and get the Washington education.

‘I felt something different when I talked to the coaches, more than other coaches I talked to”, Moore said, “It felt more like family and I’m 100% comfortable with them.”

At the end of the day, it came down to a couple of things, “Everyone’s dream is to play in front of their home crowd”, Moore said, “But it’s also about their offense and how they use their tight ends.”

Moore said Jimmy Lake was “Hyped and excited”, adding, “I think they kind of knew for awhile though.”

Moore has two bye weeks during the season and hopes to get back home to attend his future school’s games.

The Huskies kept an eye on Moore back when he was in high school, but at that time it wasn’t going to happen because Moore still had some hurdles to climb over, “I didn’t think school was important”, he said, adding that his coach was always telling him that talent alone wasn’t going to get him to the next level.

Now, he’s kicked that stone out of his path and is doing extremely well in junior college, “I’ll be ready to graduate next December”, he said.

Moore will three to play two once he gets on the field.

On the field Moore is a play-maker. He knows what to do and does it with ease on the field in terms of his routes, balance, being able to catch in stride and knock guys out of the way in the process.

And one thing that he’s become astute at since being in college is blocking, “Before I came to Independence I really didn’t know much (about blocking)”, Moore said, adding that he’s been coached up for blocking the past two years, “Last season I was the best blocking tight end on the team.”

Moore is the second tight end to put his name on the commit for 2021, and Derham Cato is beginning to establish himself as a strong recruiter.

While Moore is listed as the top juco TE in the country and the #10 overall juco, he is still a three-star prospect in the databases. But he is more than deserving of another star considering his offer list and his skillset.

Throughout his career at Kansas at Independence CC, Moore has accumulated 25 offers and his stock would have continued to rise had he not ended the journey here.
