When Coach Pete woofs, people listen. And today, the news is out that Geirean Hatchett has finally made a public commitment to the Huskies.
Hatchett, who’s from Ferndale, has been a regular around Montlake the past year, and had taken his time to make sure he was ready to stay home and play for the Dawgs.
He took visits (Oklahoma, officially, Ohio State, unofficially), he did his due-diligence — and kept fans guessing on when he was going to pull the trigger.
“I just wanted to make sure I made the best decision for myself and my family”, he said.
And his family includes younger siblings who would love to watch their big brother on Saturdays just a stone’s throw away from Ferndale.
Hatchett is also very close with coach and former Husky, Jake Locker — so you just know the Ferndale contingent is ready to come support the Huskies again.
Hatchett had listed a top 5 of Oklahoma, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Washington: That’s a Power Five. And what a terrific job by Scott Huff to keep the best offensive lineman in the state of Washington home.
Hatchett is a huge get for the Huskies — his pledge completes a star-studded offensive line class brought in by Scott Huff in 2020. Huff has done a tremendous job of landing one of the best O-line classes Washington has seen in years.
