WOOF: Cali OL with Seattle Ties talks Commitment to Huskies

Robert Wyrsch, a 6-7, 270 lb. offensive tackle from California (Soquel) announced today on Twitter that he has committed to the Huskies after just being offered a week ago.

“I was offered a week ago”, Wyrsch told Realdawg.com, “It was just a gut feeling.”

The family feeling and friendship that was being built with Scott Huff also went into the decision, “I had an instant connection with Coach Huff”, Wyrsch said, “I felt close to him right away.”

The Huskies have been rolling the past week with new commitments, and Wyrsch is a guy who flew under the radar of most analysts but still has huge upside and a lot of potential at the collegiate level.

The Huskies do want him as a offensive tackle.

He’s played football only a year and half and was also an all-conference basketball player — so he’s tough and aggressive and, for his size, can really run.

He truly has  untapped, raw potential…kind of an Ezra Cleveland 2.0.

“I was planning to get up there for spring break”, Wyrsch said, “My mom lived in Seattle and she’s told me nothing but good things about it.
