WOOF: Ben Roberts Commits to Washington

He was originally a Puget Sound resident, and then relocated to Utah, but today he told Realdawg.com that he will return to the Pacific Northwest and play for the Huskies.

“100%”, Roberts told us about how committed he is, “It was the best fit for me.”

Roberts was hosted over the weekend by former teammate Sam Taimani, and Rip Rowan did a tremendous job of showing the love to Roberts, “I love Coach Rip”, he said, “I love the way he coaches.”

Why Washington?

“The number one thing is academics”, Roberts said, “Football will come to an end — but life won’t.”

What are the Dawgs getting with Roberts? Not just the cerebral part, but he’s a beast of a lineman.

On the field, Roberts is a man-child; he’s quick, ferocious, and exhibits every attribute the best Husky DT’s have brought to Washington over the years.

Consider guys like Vita Vea, Danny Shelton, and the current DL’s playing inside — this kid is legit.

When asked what he feels makes him a special player, Roberts said “My passing rushing, for sure…getting to the quarterback.”

And while getting that blindside shot is always a thrill for any d-lineman, Roberts says “I mean, it feels good but I want the person to look at me so they know it was me.”
