Who stays, who goes?

With Washington’s 2017 season coming to a close, we predict who stays in school and who goes to the NFL next season.

Note: These predictions are not based on inside information.

Vita Vea (6-5, 340)

We don’t need to spend much time on this one. Vita Vea thought about leaving at the end of last season for the NFL but opted to comeback and improve his draft stack. The redshirt junior did just that. Vea won the Defensive Pac-12 Player of the Year award and was a dominant force on one of the best defenses in college football. Vita Vea is a lock in the first round of the NFL Draft and possibly a top-5 pick.

Prediction: leaving

Greg Gaines (6-2,322)

Vita Vea’s roommate, Greg Gaines, will have a tough decision at the end of the season. Gaines has been a big force in the middle of UW’s defense ever since his true freshman season. Greg Gaines isn’t as highly rated as Vea but the big question is how much can he improve and is it worth it to comeback for his senior season. This is a tough one to predict.

Prediction: leaving

Myles Gaskin (5-10, 191)

Quickly winning the starting running back spot early in his freshman year, Myles Gaskin has turned into one of the best RB’s in UW history. Gaskin in all three years at UW, has rushed for over 1,000 yards. The former O’Dea star has improved greatly in pass blocking and pass catching out of the backfield. Gaskin’s biggest knock is his size and that’s something he really can’t change.

Prediction: leaving

Trey Adams (6-8, 327)

Unfortunately, Washington left tackle Trey Adams saw his season cut short after suffering a season ending knee injury in UW’s loss at Arizona State. Many projected Adams to be a first round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft before the injury. All indications point towards Adams returning next season however.

Prediction: Stays

Jake Browning (6-2, 210)

It wasn’t the year Jake Browning was expecting after his break through season last year. Injuries plagued UW’s offense and it didn’t help Browning. The former Folsom star still had a very efficient season. Knowing Jake Browning, he will be back and much improved.

Prediction: Stays

Kaleb McGary (6-7, 318)

The size and skill is there for Kaleb McGary to be a very good player in the NFL. With one more year under his belt he could really improve his draft stock.

Prediction: Stays

Jordan Miller (6-1, 185)

Miller’s junior season was lost after breaking his ankle in UW’s loss at Arizona State. The junior has the size and athleticism to be a big time corner at the next level. This was Jordan Miller’s first year starting before the injury – as he sat behind NFL corners Sidney Jones and Kevin King. If Miller comes back, his draft stock could skyrocket with a good season.

Prediction: Stays.

Jojo McIntosh (6-1, 219)

The hard hitting junior safety continued his strong play as a Husky this season. Jojo McIntosh has the physicality to play in the NFL without question. But one more year could be very beneficial for Jojo McIntosh.

Prediction: Stays
