What To Watch For: Washington Heads Into A White Out

What To Watch For: Washington Heads Into A White Out

Welcome to the Big 10. After keeping the home winning streak alive last week the Huskies will travel to one of the toughest environments in college football.

A Beaver Stadium white-out.

The hosts Penn State are coming off a disapointing loss to Ohio State that saw them loose their undefeated record and drop out of the top-4.

This is a right the ship game for the Nittany Lions and it is a chance to make a loud statement for the Hukies.

Keep the Skies Clear: Penn State has struggled through the air in their last few contests and that is something the Huskies should look to take advantage of.

Penn State has not been super efficient on the ground this year, meaning that the offense can be forced to live and die by quarterback Drew Allar.

While not interception prone, Allar can be forced into some bad throws. For players like Carson Brunner, Karen Fabiculanan, and Ephesians Prysock this is the opportunity to change the game.

Of course it all starts with that defensive line group led by Voi Tunuufi. Pressure from them means opportunity on the back half.

If the Huskies can force a couple turnovers than this Penn State team will have a tough time putting up points.

Score Early, Score Often: The best way to nullify a home crowd is to make plays early. With Will Rogers under center the Huskies have just the offense to do that.

Getting all three of Denzel Boston, Giles Jackson, and Jeremiah Hunter involved will open things up for UW and allow this offense to attack the deeper parts of the field.

While Penn State has defended the run well, John Coleman will be Jonah Coleman. The Huskies should look to make the most of his efforts by getting him the ball in short yardage and goal to go.

This is a very good defense, but the Huskies have the tools to disrupt their game plan early.

Stay Focused: The Huskies are no stranger to loud crowd noise, but it’s usually to their advantage. This Penn State home crowd Will be a new experience for a lot of players meaning playing against it will be tough.

Communication will be key on the field tonight, especially for the offense. Penn State’s defense is capable of capitalizing, especially if the Huskies get stuck behind the chains.

Those early season penalty woes have seemed to die down, but this PSU crowd could make this tough.

Heading into Happy Valley as 13-point underdogs the Huskies are playing with house money. A win here puts them in a bowl game and turns this season into an automatic success.

This is the opportunity for a signature win. A chance to establish a new culture in Seattle.
