Week Seven Pac-12 Power Rankings

Week Seven Pac-12 Power Rankings

Here are my Pac-12 power rankings after week seven.

1. #12 Oregon (5-1)

The Ducks defense continues to be dominant. Oregon beat Colorado 45-3 last Friday night. The Ducks rank No. 3 in the nation in scoring defense – allowing just 8.7 points per game.

Next Opponent at Washington

2. #13 Utah (5-1)

The Utes absolutely crushed the Beavers in Corvallis. Utah out-gained OSU, 503-217 yards – in a 52-7 win.

Next Opponent: vs Arizona State

3. #17 Arizona State (5-1)

The Sun Devils are proving they can win in many different ways. Against Michigan State, the Sun Devils won in a defensive slugfest. Last weekend, ASU beat Washington State in a 38-34 shootout. True freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels continues to be impressive. Daniels passed for 363 yards and three touchdowns in the win over WSU.

Next Opponent: at Utah

4. #25 Washington (5-2)

The Huskies exploded in the second half in Tucson, scoring 38 points, to beat Arizona 51-27. True freshman WR Puka Nucua led the Huskies with 97 yards receiving. Are the Huskies getting back on track? This week looms large.

Next Opponent: vs Oregon

5. USC (3-3)

Is there a better 3-3 team in the country? The Trojans played Notre Dame tough in South Bend but ultimately fell, 30-27. USC’s losses are all on the road to BYU, Washington, and Notre Dame. But don’t be fooled. This Trojans team can beat any team in the conference on any given day.

Next Opponent: vs Arizona

6. California (4-2)

The Golden Bears were idle last week.

Next Opponent: vs Oregon State

7. Washington State (3-3)

The Cougars have dropped three straight after their 38-34 loss at Arizona State. Washington State surrendered 532 yards to the Sun Devils. This feels like a must win for the Cougars this week at home.

Next Opponent: vs Colorado

8. Stanford (3-3)

The Cardinal were idle.

Next Opponent: vs UCLA

9. Arizona (4-2)

Arizona’s halftime lead against Washington turned out to be false hope as they ultimately fell 51-27 to the Huskies. Turnovers and bad special teams play doomed the Wildcats. Can Khalil Tate bounce back this week?

Next Opponent: at USC

10. Colorado (3-3)

The Buffaloes were routed, 45-3, at Oregon last Friday. Colorado was out-gained 527-299 yards in the loss. It appears the rebuild in Boulder is still in progress.

Next Opponent: at Washington State

11. Oregon State (2-4)

The Beavers were humbled in their 52-7 home loss to Utah last Saturday. It was a disappointing result after their win at UCLA the previous week.

Next Opponent: at California

12. UCLA (1-5)

The Bruins were idle.

Next Opponent: at Stanford
