The Washington Huskies took care of business in the Coliseum Saturday evening beating the USC Trojans 42-42 in an offensive showcase. Michael Penix and the offense were back on the same page after a two game lull where sickness and rust from returning starters led to some shaky offense.

However, the night belonged to Dillon Johnson and his offensive line as they scored on all but two drives. When the Husky offense puts up 52, this article is a cakewalk.
Here are our offensive grades:
Quarterback:
Michael Penix was surgical. He took what the defense gave him most of the night. It is almost as if he played the harmony the to melody of the running game as UW offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb and Penix took advantage of the poor USC run defense.
Penix had some special plays throughout the game with the an improvised spin move that led to a perfect throw to tight end Devin Culp in the 1st half—or, as Washington play-by-play announcer, Tony Castricone called it: another Heisman moment.

Running Back
If Dillon Johnson isn’t the national offensive player of the week it would be a great injustice. DJ was unbelievable in all facets of the running game. He exploded through holes, broke tackles, and stiff-armed the USC defense and sent Alex Grinch into the unemployment line.
Will Nixon and Tybo Rogers also got into the mix and were very effective. The night belongs to the running game.

Receivers
This group is obviously over the flu. The receivers delivered almost every time they were called upon. The drops and the fumbles were nowhere to be seen.
They made plays in the passing game, won one-on-one battles, and found the end zone. This group was also relentless in the blocking game down field.
Germie Bernard had one of the biggest hits of the night on a run play to his side as he decleated the Trojan defender. It was one of the notable blocks by Bernard.

Tight Ends
All Devin Culp does is make big plays. The touchdown catch he brought down was elite. He held on as he got smacked by the USC defnder and got two feet down. Jack Westover and Josh Cuevas were also called upon in the passing game, but still their biggest contribution was in the blocking game.
They were extremally effective in the pass and run game neutralizing the pass rush on Penix. Their effort was summed up on the final touchdown arrow shot by Quentin Moore after his pancake on the scoring play.

Offensive Line:
After a couple of weeks of shuffling, offensive line coach Scott Huff to put band back together again. Having Parker Brailsford back under center and Julius Buelow back as a full go this line is elite.
The only part of the USC defense that posed a threat was the pass rush and the line dominated the line of scrimmage.
There are very few things more visually intimidating than the Husky guards and tackles pulling on run plays.
They were violent and consistly made massive holes for the running game.
