Without even lifting a finger to call a recruit, the Washington Huskies’ 2025 recruiting class got better as Andreus “Dre” Pollard was elevated by ESPN from a 3-star athlete to a 4-star athlete.
While his offers were limited the 6-0 athlete had several Power 4 offers including Arizona State, BYU, and Auburn who all recognized his multi-tool athlete. He ultimately he chose UW.
Since the inception of 247Sports’ tracker on Pollard who attends Clark High School in Las Vegas, he’s steadily risen from a mid-three-star athlete to where now in the upper-mid rating that was updated a month ago. Additionally, he’s the scouting service’s number 52 athlete.
The “Sports Leader’s”, on the other hand have him as the 12th best athlete and a top 250 (244) player overall. On the other hand, CJ Wallace is the highest-rated pledge at any position as the nation’s number 1 kicker.
“When you look at ESPN’s rating you see that of the Big 10 Conference schools he’s the 3rd highest-rated player committed,” Mueller said. “Fisch’s staff was able to identify talent early on in the process, picking up his pledge.”
Muller noted that it’s not an entirely unexpected climb in the recruiting rankings given Pollard’s skill set.
“Pollard’s ascension in the recruiting rankings ahead of his senior campaign is not really surprising, to me,” Mueller said. “He has ridiculous speed, winning Nevada State championships in track. He also plays multiple positions extremely well.”
Pollard was grateful for the recognition.
“Blessed to be named a 4star and to be a part of the ESPN Top 300,” he posted on X, later telling RealDawg, “Yessir, we already knew what it was.”
