Washington Sends Out Several New Offers Focused Speed Demons

The Washington Huskies recent string of offers have gone out to some of the fastest players in the country, including Demare Dezeurn who set the US national freshman record of 6.72 seconds in the 60-meter dash at the California Winter Track & Field Championships in February.

He was also clocked at a 10.43 in the 100 meters.

On the gridiron for Bishop Alemany last season the he put on a show on kickoff returns, taking two kicks back for 90+ yards for touchdowns.

“When I hit the final opening there’s no better feeling than seeing all of the green grass in front of you, knowing nobody can catch you,” he told RealDawg shortly after receiving his Husky offer.

The freshman also caught 42 passes for 567 yards and 5 additional TDs.

The Huskies also offered his teammate wide receiver/defensive back Gianni Haynes.   A fellow freshman, Haynes is stands at 6-1, and weighs about 180.

Another UW offer went to Valencia, California running back Brian Bonner.  The 5-11, 180 pound RB who has run a 10.65, 100 meters.  As a sophomore he had 1,231 all-purpose yards, including 500 rushing yards and 457 receiving yards.

Familiar territory for the Huskies has become Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California where the Huskies handed out an offer to 2027 corner back Danny Lang.  The 6-1, 165-pound DB has offers from Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Penn State and now Washington.

2026 receiver Massiah Mingo of Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas also received a Husky offer.  Last season, in 7 games played, Mingo caught 37 passes for 524 yards and 3 scores.  He holds offers from Washington, Georgia, Colorado, Arizona and UNLV.

A familiar name to Washington fans is Anthony Jones who picked up an offer, but this is a different 6-5, 240 pound outside linebacker.  At Crean Lutheran High School last season Jones had 46 tackles, 8 sacks, 5 additional tackles for loss and 20 quarterback hurries.

RealDawg has interviewed several of these prospects and will have stories in the coming weeks.
