Seafair Weekend in won’t slow down the Washington Huskies’ recruiting efforts as an offer went out to 3-star 2026 Texas defensive back/athlete Marcell Gipson, Junior.
The 5-11, 170 DB reported his offer Saturday afternoon on Twitter.
Last season as a sophomore at two-time defending state champs South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas he posted 41 tackles including one for loss, two passes defended an interception and a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown.
He holds offers from Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Pitt, Oregon and SMU.
Gipson helped SOCHS to a 13-3 record and the state championship game against Port Neches-Groves High School.
In the state final South Oak kept PNG of the end zone until 3:22 left in the contest. In the losing effort Gipson had 3 tackles—2 solo.
For the class of 2026 UW has already sent out 137 offers including 19 top cornerbacks.
