Washington Mens Basketball Lands Top Transfer Center

The Washington Huskies Men’s Basketball program is off to a great start under new head coach Danny Sprinkle, having landed Utah State big man Great Osobor.

247 Sports lists him as the 7th overall best player in the Transfer Portal and the number 2 center.

The 6-8, 250-pound forward/center is one in the most-traveled players in college basketball.  He began his collegiate career at Montana State playing under Sprinkle then followed him to Utah State.

However, he was born in Spain where he lived until he was 12, moving to England.

Osobor put up nearly 18 points and pulled down 9.0 rebounds a game last season.  His season high of 32 points came against Air Force.

His best overall game last season came against Fresno State when he had 29 points and a season high 17 rebounds in the overtime victory.  In the overtime period he had 4 points and 3 boards.

He also averaged 2.8 assists, 1.4 blocked shots and 1.3 steals in 35  games this season for the Aggies.

He, along with Sprinkle lost in March Madness to eventual National Champion runner up, Purdue.

However, against the two-time national player of the year Zach Edey the Mountain West player of the year had 14 points and 6 boards—despite giving up 8 inches and 50 pounds.

Washington Men’s Basketball essentially confirmed Osobor’s decision with the below tweet.

Despite putting together what should have been competitive rosters the past several years, the Huskies failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament since 2019.
