Washington Loses 3-Star Offensive Lineman to Transfer Portal

The post season activity of Washington in the Transfer Portal continues as offensive lineman Vic Curne announced that he’s left the program.

Despite his athleticism Curne was passed over this season after the Stanford game this season.

“Realistically, at 6-4 and 320, Curne may have been better suited for a ground and pound offense,” said RealDawg.com’s Trevor Mueller.  “The Huskies are moving towards pass protection type of offensive linemen.”

The 27th best offensive guard in the country by 247 Sports, from 2020-21 he made 16 consecutive starts before Kalen DeBoer’s arrival.

He changed positions in the first part of his Husky career before moving to No. 1 offensive guard.

“A lot of teams will be looking for a mature linemen with a ton of Power5 starts under his belt,” Mueller said.

Curne was a class of 2018 signee out of Second Baptist High School in Houston, Texas.  He red shirted that year but saw action in 7 games in 2019.  In 2020 he started all 4 games and was named an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.

He is listed as senior as graduated this past fall.  He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
