Washington Loses 2024 Commitment of 3-Star Edge Defender, Will Visit Oregon

Amid a flurry of scholarship offers being sent out, the Washington Huskies have lost a commitment from Yuma Catholic (Arizona) edge defender Jaxson Jones.  He leaves behind 2024 commits quarterback EJ Caminong of Seattle’s Garfield High and Las Vegas receiver Landon Bell.

The 6-3, 215 defender committed to the Huskies on September 18th of last year.

At the time of his commitment he told RealDawg.com that the Washington coaches said to expect more offers to come his way.  The next month Notre Dame, Arizona State, Oregon, USC and Utah all sent him offers.

Jones did not offer a reason for decommitting, only saying that he and his family carefully reconsidered all of their options.  On Jan 12th he received his most recent offer from the University of Michigan.

His follow up Tweet was an announcement that he will be visiting the University of Oregon this coming weekend.
