“We’ve got some unfinished business,” Washington’s starting left tackle Troy Fautanu said Monday night on Twitter. With that proclamation he announced that he will be returning to his left tackle spot on the Husky offensive line for the 2023 season.
With just shopping days until Christmas, Washington coach Kalen DeBoer is proving to be the gift that keeps on giving.
Last season he was able to bring back left tackle Jaxson Kirkland for one more year. Already All-American pass rushers Zion Tupuola-Fetui, Bralen Trice and the nation’s number 1 passer, quarterback Michael Penix have announced their return to Husky football for 2023.
“The past four years of my life at the university of Washington has been such a blessing. I cant think the city of Seattle enough for everything it has given me,” the 6-4, 312-pound sophomore said. “I am presented with a opportunity I will not take for granted.”
The opportunity Fautanu is speaking of is that with so the core of Washington’s passing attack and and pass rushing attack returning, along with key acquisitions such as USC transfer linebacker Ralen Goforth, DB transfer Thaddeus Dixon and others, the Huskies will be positioned to make a run at the college football playoffs.

Yet to declare their intentions are receivers Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan.
Fautanu, from Liberty High School in Las Vegas, Nevada had been sorting through the best available NFL Draft information available before making his declaration.
This past season he was awarded 2022 All-Pac-12 Second Team by the conference, 2022 All-Pac-12 Third Team by Pro Football Focus, and third on Phil Steele’s 2022 All-Pac-12 Team.
