The Huskies have announced the commitment of running back Daniyel Ngata, a transfer form Arizona State.Β Β Ngata visited the University of Washington this past weekend.

He’s not unfamiliar with the UW as his older brother ArielΒ was a Washington defender who has since transferred to Sacramento State, recently declaring for the NFL Draft.Β Daniyel was rated as the number 3 all purpose backs coming out of Folsom High School just outside of Sacramento, California.
As a 4-star ball carrier at FHS, he had 29 offers including one from Washington.Β For the Sun Devils this past season in 11 games he averaged 5 yards a carry and 5.9 yards per reception.Β In all he had 272 rushing yards on 54 carries and caught 9 passes for 53 yards.
However, he was instrumental in ASUβs upset of the Huskies in Tempe this past season.Β His 1-yard touchdown run gave the Sun Devils a 38-24 lead in the 3rd quarter of the contest.
Due to a couple of lingering injuries, including one to his wrist his participation was limited and his production .Β He began the spring as the Sun Devilsβ number 1 running back.
