The Washington Huskies have landed, four-star Texas defensive back, Joshua Lair.

The 6-1 safety from Missouri City, Texas is Washington’s second known commit in the past two days.

Rated as the number 40 safety prospect, Lair has offers from 20 Power 5 schools.  He becomes UWs 4th highest-rated player for the 2024 recruiting class.

”Lair is listed as a corner, but he’s versatile and rangy enough to play multiple defensive back positions,” said RealDawg.com lead high school scout Trevor Mueller.  “However, he likes to hit so he may inherit the Husky position, eventually.”

Lair was among a group of visitors who were on hand forWashington’s 59 to 32 Victory over California.  In that game, Washington’s defense provided 20 quarterback pressures that produced 4 interceptions and two pick-6 (one which was negated by a penalty).

Washington’s 2024 recruiting class now sits at 14 prospects, and is ranked 49th in the country.
