In a stunning turn of events, University of Washington athletic director Troy Dannen is packing his bags and heading to Nebraska. The former Tulane AD was brought in to replace Jen Cohen in October of last year.

Dannen served as Washington’s Director of Athletics for just six months had yet to purchase a house.

Dannen inked a six-year deal with the Cornhuskers this morning, reportedly taking the opportunity to move closer to his family in Iowa.

Dannen’s tenure saw the departure of head football coach Kalen DeBoer to Alabama and the firing of men’s basketball coach Mike Hopkins.

Replacing the vacant basketball positioning will fall to the hands of whomever is appointed as Dannen’s replacement.
