Safe to say, 11 wins, Pac-12 Coach of the Year didn’t satisfy Washington’s first year head coach, Kalen DeBoer.
Sure, DeBoer had a fantastic first season in the Purple and Gold after leaving Fresno State to take over the 4-8 last season Huskies, but he clearly wants more saying, “We Didn’t Accomplish All Our Goals.”

He led Washington to 10 regular-season wins and a spot to play No. 21 Texas in the Alamo Bowl.
The Huskies had post-season play in both 2020 and 2021.
In eliminating the Pac-12 Championship Game, pitting the North Division champion against the South Division champion it kept the Huskies out of the Conference Championship and a shot at a return to the Rose Bowl—or even the College Football Playoffs.
DeBoer won the Pac-12 Coach of the Year, but bigger things may have be available if the Huskies has made it further.
That leaves the DeBoer and his 2nd ranked Huskies (preseason Pac-12 media poll) with plenty to aspire to this season.

Washington quarterback, and Heisman-contender Michael Penix, took it a step further, and saying that the unfinished business was a very big reason he returned for his senior season.
