VISIT REPORT: Jay’Veon Sunday Ready to Run with the Dawgs

Texas tailback, Jay’Veon Sunday had been to Washington before on an official visit, and made a trip back up to Washington this weekend to get one last look before signing day.

“It was about the same”, he said of this visit versus his last visit, “The last time was a little more exciting (it was a game weekend).”

“I just enjoyed hanging out with all the players…Cam was my host”, he said of Cameron Davis.

Sunday is going to sign on Wednesday and said he plans to send us some video of the event at his school.

He committed to Washington back in the spring and has remained completely solid throughout the process, despite some suitors trying to lure him away — and Keith Bhonapha did a tremendous job of finding this Lone Star gem who runs like a gazelle and should contribute early for the Huskies.

“I like Coach Lake”, he said, “I know he wants to run the ball more and so I’m just excited to get in there.”

The best part of the trip for Sunday was “getting to watch practice”, he said.

Sunday finished up a season of 2023 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. Right now he’s at 5-11, 195 and said he will add about five more pounds, “Coach KB said I could get to 200 in no time”, Sunday said.
