The University of Washington athletic department and its exclusive multimedia rightsholder, Huskies Sports Properties, has announced that starting this week it will begin producing Husky Classics; a series that will re-air classic radio broadcasts condensed into a 60-minute replay.
Over the course of the next 10 weeks, every Tuesday and Friday at 4 p.m. PT a Husky Classic will be released with Monday serving as the reveal day. The broadcasts – 20 in total – will be announced via UW athletics social media platforms on Mondays.
This week’s offerings will be the 2001 Rose Bowl Game (Washington vs Purdue) on Tuesday and the 2011 Pac-10 Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship Game (Washington vs Arizona) on Friday.
Each broadcast will be available for download on its respective day on the GoHuskies Podcast or it can be streamed through the Husky Gameday App (available for download on Google Play or Apple App Store). In addition, KOMO NewsRadio AM 1000/FM 97.7 will air the Husky Classics over the radio and on komonewsradio.com every Saturday and Sunday from 4-6 p.m. PT.
