UCLA Transfer, Mitchell Agude Very Impressed with Washington

The Huskies brought in former UCLA edge-rusher, Mitchell Agude over the weekend, and the 6-4, 245 lb. prospect had nothing but good things to say following the visit.

“It went well”, Agude told Realdawg.com upon arriving home in California, “Zion was my host — we really connected.”

Coach Eric Schmidt is playing point for Agude, and the two have established a very good relationship, but getting to meet Kalen DeBoer was equally important for Agude, “He’s a good guy”, Agude said, “He really cares about his coaches and players.”

One thing that stood out for Agude was the feeling of “family” at Washington, and that will be an important factor down the stretch.

When asked about the highlight of the trip, Agude said “There were a lot of highlights”, citing the city of Seattle being a “beautiful place”, but also that “family atmosphere.”

“The facilities at UCLA were top notch, but you have Husky Stadium and everything is right there next to each other, it’s more…I want to say high-tech.”

Next weekend Agude is scheduled to be in Oregon and Miami, but he won’t make any final decision until later in the month, but he said he could “definitely” see himself at Washington.

And despite some reports coming out of Westwood after he left UCLA, Agude says this isn’t about the NIL, “It’s really about relationships…I want to be somewhere where I can play my best and be comfortable.”

On the field, Agude is a ferocious edge-rusher who has all the intangibles to be a first-round pick; he’s fast, strong, and likes to pattern his play after the likes of Von Miller and Max Crosby.

“They have vicious moves”, he said, “You can’t stop them.”

He then went onto to talk about how deadly a duo he and Zion Tupuola-Fetui could be if he were to land at Washington. The Husky defense could be lethal.

Agude was named Pac-12 Defensive Lineman of the Week after UCLA beat Cal.  He has one year of eligibility left.
